The Department of Treasury and Finance provides economic, financial and resource management advice to help the Victorian Government deliver its policies. We strive for excellence in financial and economic management to improve the lives of all Victorians.
Invest Victoria is the Victorian Governments key economic development agency, this role sits within the International Investment Branch who lead the attraction and facilitation of foreign direct investment into Victoria.
About the role You will implement investment attraction strategies, work with international companies and contribute to the investment pipeline to secure new investments for Victoria. Your main responsibilities include:

- Engaging and building relationships with international companies seeking to invest in Victoria/Australia. This will involve providing support to businesses to promote opportunities in Victoria and coordinate the attraction and facilitation of investments into the State.
- Work with international Victorian Government Trade and Investment offices to research and identify international investment targets and assist the implementation of international investment attraction strategies that seek to secure investment and jobs into Victoria.
- Prepare briefings, reports and correspondence for executives and Ministers, related to investment opportunities from international markets.
- Provide efficient and timely support on the negotiation of financial incentives to attract investment to Victoria and the subsequent administration of these agreements.

About you
You will have excellent interpersonal skills, knowledge in one or more industry sectors along with a understanding of the global and business environment, investment trends and key markets for Victoria. You will also possess:

- Experience working with prospective investors seeking to enter a new market would be well regarded.
- Ability to communicate a comprehensive understanding of global business trends and key business opportunities to persuade international businesses to invest in a new market.
- Excellent written communication skills, including experience in undertaking research and analysis on business opportunities along with preparing comprehensive briefs or Cabinet submissions.
