A great opportunity exists to join Zurich’s General Insurance team as a Liability Underwriter.

In this dynamic role, you will oversee a portfolio of strategic broker partners, fostering strong relationships as you underwrite new and existing business. Collaborating with the QLD sales and underwriting team, you will utilise your Liability expertise to drive profitable growth and ensure operational requirements are met.

Your key responsibilities will include:

- Evaluate and underwrite existing and new liability insurance risks, in-line with Zurich’s Underwriting Guidelines, procedures and authority levels, providing exceptional service, whilst achieving sustainable growth within the portfolio
- Stay current with industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory requirements
- Implement the Go-To-Market strategy as set in the Commercial Markets business, proactively driving awareness and positioning of Zurich Liability products and services in the market
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders throughout QLD, demonstrating a proven market-facing presence in the region
- Demonstrated ability to execute on strategic plans and company initiatives.

- Relevant tertiary qualifications; ANZIIF CIP member or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years’ experience underwriting or broking liability risks
- Experience in Liability Underwriting, with a comprehensive understanding of the general insurance industry
- Proven technical underwriting capability
- Strong knowledge of the GI Brokers market
- An analytical and solution focused mindset
- Strong knowledge of the underwriting philosophy, techniques, regulations, and guidelines.
- Excellent communication & stakeholder management skills
