You’ll be able to work close to home in a dynamic setting featuring cafes and retail options set amongst heritage buildings and open green spaces. **The Opportunity** Melton City Council seeks a permanent full time Team Leader Asset Data within the Engineering and Asset Services Department. This role reports to the Coordinator Asset Management and GIS and will be leading a team responsible for the accurate and timely capture and import of Council asset data into GIS and asset management systems and provide expertise in delivering geospatial and data projects and process improvements. **Key Responsibilities** - Lead the team in the accurate review and timely import of Council asset data into the GIS and asset management systems. - Maintain current and accurate internal documentation relating to the management of Council asset data. - Provide expertise through GIS and data management software to enhance the management and monitoring of Council asset data. - Undertake specific GIS projects to assist in Council’s provision of geospatial services. - Primary contact for Council asset data when liaising internally and externally with maintenance contractors, state government and other authorities. To view the **Position Description**, click **here**. **About you** **_ To be successful in this role you will have the following:_** - Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Asset Management or Geospatial Science. - Significant experience in the processes involved in the acquisition of Council assets and consumption into GIS and asset management systems. - Well-developed verbal and written communication and negotiation skills, including demonstrated ability to lead meetings/group discussion, make presentations and provide on-the-job training. - Experience in the use of desktop GIS (ArcGIS, MapInfo or QGIS) for the capture, analysis, and mapping of spatial data. - Current valid Victorian Driver’s Licence. **Culture and Values** Our vision for our community is to be: "A vibrant, safe and liveable city accessible to all" and that means there’s a place here for you too.
