The **Media Manager **role is responsible for creating and executing news worthy and engaging content to drive positive media sentiment and to strengthen ING’s external reputation. Here at ING, external communication is respected as a strategic business function, not only an executional channel. You’ll be part of a fun, welcoming and collaborative team that consults the business on how to make the best reputational decisions and how to meaningfully engage with external stakeholders including: media, customers and our social followers.

You’ll drive the strategic execution of proactive consumer PR, working hand in glove with our internal comms and brand teams and agencies. You’ll also assist during times of issues and crises; drafting messages, monitoring and reporting.

We’re a small but nimble and hands-on team -and often we need to pivot according to business priorities. This might mean there is occasional need to support with social media requirements including for our contact center on tone of voice and complex issues

**What you’ll do**
- Regularly engage with media to help maintain relationships for the bank
- Work with agency to maintain a regular drumbeat of proactive consumer stories that spark media interest and generate engaging social content
- Draft briefing notes for internal stakeholders
- Respond to incoming media queries
- Provide considered PR counsel to internal stakeholders so that expectations are appropriately managed
- Proactively stay across retail banking topics in the media and continually educate internal stakeholders on what’s making the new

**What we’re looking for**
- 7+ years’ experience in a PR or media related role
- Proven experience in managing vendors and governance.
- Passion for storytelling and an understanding of the entertainment landscape, content formats and cultural /content trends
- Desire to learn about our business and customers -all roles provide opportunities to contribute and add value through collaboration and proactive relationship building
- Desire to transform and improve the customer experience with the ‘ING brand experience’ being considered at every touchpoint
