**The role**:
To manage the numerous projects in the Peninsula and Western Port regions, SEW is dividing the Water Recycling Plants into two distinct areas. The new Wastewater Treatment Systems Automation Team Leader will be responsible for one of these areas, ensuring the high-quality delivery of projects within their assigned region.

Leading a team of SCADA engineers and technicians, you will direct the teams and manage priorities whilst collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure the effective operation and continuous improvement of the SCADA systems.
- Key Accountabilities Include:_
- Strategic Development: Collaborate with the SCADA Manager and other engineers to develop a long-term SCADA/PLC strategy, implementing system and platform upgrades to meet growing demands.
- Technology Integration: Research, evaluate, and implement new technologies to enhance SEW’s control systems.
- Network Stability: Maintain the stability and integrity of control networks, ensuring reliable real-time data for asset management.
- Team Leadership: Schedule and prioritize new work requests, ensuring efficient delivery of technology services to meet business needs.
- Project Management: Lead engineers and contractors in automation works and minor projects on the ICS network.
- Collaboration: Work with infrastructure, capital delivery, operations, and maintenance teams to deliver capital projects for plant expansion.
- Expert Contribution: Participate in major plant upgrades, contributing as an ICS SME to the design, testing, and delivery of projects.
- On-call Support: Participate in an “on-call” technical roster.

**Who are you?**:
Your ability to lead and develop teams will be essential in this role, along with your ability to plan strategically, setting long term goals at strategies for team evolution.

You will also be able to demonstrate:

- Education: Minimum of a 4-year Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Systems, or Software Engineering.
- Experience: 8-10 years of SCADA and PLC systems development, programming, and integration.
- Technical Expertise: Practical experience in TCP/IP networking hardware configuration and maintenance, networking infrastructure, security of ICS, SCADA (GE/Emerson PLC, Geo SCADA), telemetry systems, and the water or utility industry.
- Complex Systems Management: Experience managing complex control systems, diagnosing problems, and making sound decisions
- Technical Documentation: High competency in creating complex technical documents, network and IT-related diagrams, and automation architecture.
- Communication: Strong communication skills to interact effectively with engineering teams, contractors, managers, IT workers, and stakeholders.
- Research & Development: High capability in R&D to implement the latest innovations and standards in PLC, user interfaces, sensors, mobile IP, and server-based technologies.
- Problem Solving: Strong problem-solving skills to engage the team in completing critical tasks promptly.
