Gold Coast, Australia Education Full time

**About us**:
Pacific Pines State High School is a rapidly growing, friendly and safe school with world class facilities where strong relationships exist between staff, parents and students. We believe that these relationships underpin the teaching and learning journey which in turn creates a strong, positive school culture.
At Pacific Pines State High School we instil a sense of personal and collective integrity in our students which will serve them well throughout their lives.

**About the Role**:
Within this role your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Contribute to the day to day management and support of administration staff within the school, including identifying corporate service issues, coordinating support office staff where necessary;
- Interpreting departmental and school policies, guidelines and ensuring legislative and procedural requirements are met;
- Assist with the daily supervision and support of administration staff by monitoring workloads, identifying workforce skills needs, and highlighting any performance issues to the Principal / Business Manager / HR Manager, including research of professional development opportunities for support office administration staff;
- Generate daily reports on absenteeism, send SMS messages to parents/carers, advise and follow up with teachers, and document relevant information on an excel spreadsheet and on OneSchool;
- Collect and coordinate data to determine and document reasons for absences by students chronically absent, monitor student programs, and provide information to teachers and school leaders where necessary, liaising with our Wellbeing Team to address issues relating to students experiencing problems that prevent their engagement at school;
- Maintain a database of students that are independent, students residing with carers (guardian kinship care/child safety officers), students where there are legal orders against the parents/guardians, or other issues that may impact on student attendance and make referrals to the Wellbeing team as appropriate, especially for students at risk (at home or in the school environment);
- Maintain positive relationships between the school and families of students who show persistent absence from school to encourage students' continuous attendance at school, assist teachers addressing these barriers to school attendance, and contribute to the development and implementation of strategies and procedures to counter causes of school non-attendance.

Please refer to the attached role description for any mandatory requirements for this position.

**How to Apply**:

- Please attach a brief resume including contact details for 2 referees (referees should have an understanding of your relevant previous work history).
