This is a highly visible role that requires both business insight for working with product management to understand business requirements and the technical expertise to execute on the shared product vision.
**Responsibilities**:
Translate product requirements and business needs into technical solutions that meet operational and business needs
Guide the overall design and architecture of the new commercial services and its components
Identify new technologies and techniques that can improve the value and quality of the product
Identify areas of technical leverage across organization to help develop shared technology and services
Mentor members of the development team and coach effective engineering practices
Leverage experience to define common data structures and contracts to meet the needs of upstream and downstream clients of the eCommerce commercial service, including partners, finance and accounting.
Help design and implement services ensure quality, efficient delivery via an automated CI/CD pipeline leveraging modern DevOps frameworks and practices
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Education
10+ years of experience as a Software Engineer using multiple technologies, languages and frameworks.
2+ years in an architect role.
Excellent knowledge of Java, Rest APIs,.NET and SOA
Strong background in Cloud computing, preferably AWS
Experience with message queuing (e.g. RabbitMQ, SQS) and data streaming (e.g. Kinesis, Kafka)
Passionate about code and large-scale system design
Coached, influenced, and inspired multiple teams to tackle technical problems
Experience with eCommerce systems a plus
Experience on Media, Telco or Banking is preferred
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer/Software Engineering, or related discipline
