**Position Summary**

Implements and upholds proper Service Deli operations. Provides prompt and courteous customer service, aids in food production, customer service and sanitation duties as needed by the business. Uses problem-solving skills, tact, and discretion to oversee and direct the staff. Schedules the rosters and training, coaches, counsels, and reviews the personnel during daily activities, continually developing the employees. Works in communication with various levels of management to resolve issues. Implements and upholds specific and general safety procedures and standards. Determines production requirements. Approves and submits physical inventory and orders to the buying office. Coordinates proper maintenance and repairs for machinery and equipment.

**Job Duties/Essential Functions**
- Develops, coaches, counsels, and directs Service Deli personnel
- Mentors and provides direct assistance to the Assistant Service Deli Supervisor
- Monitors employee performance and provides proactive feedback to promote teamwork and accountability
- Participates in the employment process by making recommendations for hiring, promotion, and termination
- Participates in Service Deli employee evaluations
- Responds to employee concerns using problem solving skills, tact, and discretion in accordance with the Costco Employee Agreement and other applicable regulations
- Approves timecards and other reports
- Implements and upholds proper Service Deli and general safety procedures and standards. Ensures health code compliance
- Reviews department profit and loss statement
- Develops and implements sales and merchandising plan for department
- Observes employee performance and finished merchandise to ensure proper department procedures are followed
- Approves and submits physical inventory periodically
- Approves and submits orders to buying office for equipment, merchandise, and supplies
- Coordinates proper maintenance and repairs for machinery, equipment, and implements
- Determines merchandise production requirements and oversees merchandise presentation and merchandising
- Follows Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP) guidelines ( proper cleaning and sanitation of all equipment)
- Completes and complies with 11 Commandments of Quality Assurance, Food Safety Certification, and all safety training required by warehouse and Service Deli
- Assists in other departments of the warehouse as necessary
- Provides prompt and courteous customer service to members, employees, and suppliers.

**Ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery**
- Phone, computer, calculator, copier, rotisserie, combination heat/steam oven, warming case, wrapping machine, shears, knife, large wheeled racks, low pressure washer, cardboard baler, trash compactor, pallet jack blast chiller, air hose cleaner, step ladder.

Education/Training:

- High School Certificate or higher

Licenses/Certifications:

- None

Experience/Skills:

- Managerial or supervisory experience
- Food service, food handling or comparable experience
- Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides) and AS400
- Strong customer service, communication, interpersonal and organisation skills
- Problem solving and critical thinking
- Basic math skills

**Other specific requirements**
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check
- Full COVID-19 vaccination or medical contraindications certificate
- If successful, you will be required to undertake role & department specific training within specified timeframes
