**ABOUT THE COMPANY.**

Our Client based in the Southern Highlands is looking for a Development Compliance Officer to assist with Council's project for the upcoming 3 months. Participate in a business transformation model to achieve cultural change.

**ABOUT THE POSITION.**

3 month contract with view for extension. Reporting to the Manager of Compliance Regulation. Conduct audits, investigations and research to ensure compliance with statutory controls, adopted policy positions and conditions of development consent.

**DUTIES.**
- Implementation and monitoring of Council's compliance audit program relating to approved developments
- Investigation of development related complaints, including undertaking enforcement actions
- Responding to identified alleged breaches of relevant statutory provisions
- Corrective actions with unapproved connections to Council's reticulated water and sewer infrastructure
- Undertaking education and awareness campaigns & more

**SKILLS & EXPERIENCE.**
- Completed or enrolled in relevant tertiary qualification
- Previous experience working for Local Council (3+ years' desired)
- Experience in NSW Land and Environment Court as an expert witness
- High level interpersonal and communication skills in stakeholder management
