The role This role will be responsible for the day-to-day human resources operational function of FSQ, including strategic workforce planning, recruitment, leadership capability development and providing expert and authoritative advice to ensure effective industrial and employee relations.

**You will**:

- Provide leadership and advice on initiatives to build workforce capability and a safe, inclusive and respectful workplace culture
- Provide expert strategic HR advice and support to deliver practical operational outcomes and ensure quality people management practices across workforce and capability planning, workforce profiling, recruitment and selection, HR policy, employee relations, change management, and learning and development matters.
- Analyse employee data to address individual and broader workforce issues and present evidence-based solutions
- Lead and participate in human resource projects and working groups
- Drive leadership capability development
- Provide day to day oversight of the work of the admin officers where they are assisting with corporate/HR tasks

The successful person
- Significant experience in providing a high level of strategic and operational HR services in a team-based environment
- Strong contemporary knowledge of current HR practices and systems, industrial instruments and emerging trends
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, incorporating integrity, tact, ethical conduct and confidentiality, and ability to effectively influence outcomes through negotiation and high quality written materials
- Strong analytical skills with an innovative solutions focus to address challenges in a diverse and complex environment and optimise performance
- High level knowledge of employment and industrial matters, and commitment to business improvement through contemporary human resource initiatives
- An adaptable, responsive, customer-service oriented approach
- Personal resilience and adaptability

About usLocated at Coopers Plains, FSQ operates specialised Forensic Biology, Forensic Chemistry and Forensic Operations functions that provides forensic services and expert advice to the Queensland Police Service (QPS) and the Coroner's Court of Queensland.
Forensic Chemistry provides testing evidence examination and reporting, oil spill comparisons and illicit drug analysis. It also performs commercial testing for hemp growers, councils, commercial cleaning companies, landlords and real estate agents.
Forensic Biology provides analytical and advisory services principally to the Queensland Police Service in the areas of evidence recovery, DNA analysis and result interpretation culminating in expert advice and evidence.
Please note that proposed legislative and structural changes may result in Forensic Science Queensland being moved to another agency within Queensland Public Sector.
