About the RoleAs the regional Principal Human Resource Consultant - Employee Relations, you will have responsibility for the following:

- Provide expert advice to the regional management team regarding the delivery of human resource management services including employee relation issues.
- Manage complex employee relations matters including advice on Local Consultative committee's, Enterprising Bargaining Agreements, Certified Agreements and complex Award interpretation.
- Manage mediations, investigations, and performance management matters.
- Investigate routine employee grievances and alleged breaches of employment related policies.
- Curation of activities, actions and other parties to identify the best pathway to bring issues to resolution.
- As a member of the regional and human resource program's senior management team, contribute to change and relational management processes in the region.
- The Metropolitan Regional Office base location of this role can be negotiated upon interview with the option of a flexible work arrangement.

About You

**Ideally the successful applicant will**:

- Have a working knowledge of public sector industrial relations (IR) frameworks (e.g. IR maturity framework) and regulatory requirements in interpreting and providing expert advice in legislation, regulation, policy, guidelines and other formal compliance related documentation.
- Able to implement effective risk management practices to identify and prevent risks.
- Proactively identifies and manages potential conflicts within relationships to prevent disagreements from arising.
- Employs conflict management skills and techniques to resolve confrontations and disagreements in a constructive manner.
- Demonstrates the ability to remain tactful, calm, and persuasive in all situations.
- Able to employ problem solving and option analysis skills and techniques to inform decision making and recommendations.
- Possess excellent communication, stakeholder management and engagement skills.
- Thrives as part of a high-performing team and look for ways to contribute to the teams success.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, focused on collaboration and can effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
