We are currently working with a large global mining company to find an
**Open Pit Grade Control Technician **on an 8/6 roster.

**About The Role**
- Gather, validate, process and transport reverse circulation (RC) samples in a timely manner to ensure the provision of accurate samples for laboratory analysis.
- Undertake blast hole sampling ensuring relevant samples and data are collected and sent to the laboratory for analysis.
- Collect T3 underground samples and send for analysis.
- Ensure the timely and accurate installation and pick up of blast ball movements, to ensure effective ore mark-outs of blasts occur.
- Conduct the timely and accurate lay out of ore mark outs according to the daily plan requirements, to assist production with correct ore identification.
- Assist in training and supporting excavator operators to identify ore, as required.
- Conduct accurate and timely data entry as required to support the Geology team.
- Attend and participate in the regular team meetings, as scheduled, including the daily prestart and the monthly safety meetings.
- When required and directed, work with the Grade Control team to complete workload requirements and complete other general duties as requested by the supervisor.
- Maintaining a high standard of housekeeping in all areas that involve the team members. Including looking after tools equipment and vehicles. Ensure all equipment is maintained in good working order and quantities of consumables are maintained.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement in the operation, identifying and implementing better ways to complete tasks and demonstrate proactive approach to problem solving.

**Safety Accountabilities**
- Practice the safe behaviours, report hazards, incidents, and unsafe situations.
- Complete OCCCs for all operational tasks.
- Complete tasks to Newcrest Standard Work Procedures.

**About You**
- Unrestricted C Class Drivers Licence
- Good Communication skills
- Physically fit to carry out manual handling tasks
- An understanding of QAQC principles and practises
- Computer skills in Microsoft suite and Acquire
- Problem solving skills
