We are seeking a Waste Education Officer to support in the development and delivery of the Waste Sustainability and Education Plan. Designing programs and communications to facilitate environmentally sustainable outcomes associated with better resource recovery and waste management practices are key aspects of the role.

This position promotes and educates the City of Perth community regarding available resource recovery and waste programs. It aims to enhance stakeholder awareness by providing technical support, advice, community engagement, communication, and education in relation to sustainable waste management.

Reporting to the Senior Waste Education Officer, this position will support the City by:

- Assisting in Investigating and interpreting the community’s resource recovery and waste management needs in line with legislation, environmental guidelines, and the City’s compliance responsibilities.
- Presenting and promoting sustainable resource recovery and waste management programs to the City’s residential and commercial groups and attending Community Group meetings.
- Raising community and stakeholder awareness related to innovative resource recovery services such as Containers for Change and FOGO (residential 3 bin system).
- Assisting in preparing and implementing waste education-related projects.
