We are seeking an experienced Waste Disposal Officer to join one of our government clients for an immediate start. The primarily objective of the role is to provide a quality service to all residents and customers in regards to the provision of landfill attendant services.

We are seeking an experienced Waste Disposal Officer to join one of our government clients for an immediate start. The primarily objective of the role is to provide a quality service to all residents and customers in regards to the provision of landfill attendant services.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Operate plant at the disposal site efficiently and in accordance with approved work practices, procedures, services levels and quality standards
- Assist Leading Hands and Supervisor Waste Disposal solve routine problems associated with waste disposal operations
- Attend on site after hours in cases of emergency when called
- Direct traffic to the correct tipping area, and control customers in the correct sorting of materials
- Check customer loads for asbestos, oil, tyres, batteries, chemical and other hazardous goods, and arrange appropriate disposal of these goods
- Maintain facility in a clean and tidy condition at all times
- Carry out daily and weekly vehicle maintenance checks in accordance with written checklists

**About you**:

- Experience in landfill and recycling facility operations
- Experience in safe operation and user maintenance of water trucks, hooklift trucks and tipper trucks
- Experience in safe operation and user maintenance of waste collection vehicles
- Knowledge of employee responsibilities regarding Work Health and Safety
- Sound time management skills and a capacity to work with mínimal supervision
- An ability to collaboratively work with and assist others
- Knowledge of waste transfer station operations
