Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage a Financial Compliance Officer on a non-ongoing position for 12 months.

**The Opportunity**

The department is seeking a collaborative, self-motivated and results driven Compliance Officer to join the Disclosure and Compliance Team.

As a Financial Compliance Officer you will undertake reviews of financial disclosure returns of various actors in the political system, claims for election funding following an electoral event and other investigations as required to assess compliance with Part XX of the Commonwealth Electoral Act 1918.

To excel you'll have:

- Experience in conducting financial audits with good organisational skills and a demonstrated ability to undertake tasks methodically and accurately.
- Experience in analysing moderately complex information providing timely and accurate advice and support;
- Proven ability to communicate and collaborate effectively within a team, with other business areas and external stakeholders at all levels of seniority;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with high attention to detail and problem-solving abilities;
- A strong commitment to working harmoniously within a team to achieve positive results and support department's strategic direction.

Desirable
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in accounting and solid knowledge of financial procedures;
