Our client, located in Lake Macquarie, is a successful and respected Australian favourite in the motorhome industry. The dealership offers both new and used vehicles in various sizes and caters to every budget. Due to continued growth, they are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic person to join their team.
**ABOUT THE ROLE**
This Sub-Assembly Team Member full-time permanent position will be responsible for manufacturing and preparing parts ready for the assembly team. This position entails a variety of tasks, primarily focused on creating sub-assemblies of various smaller components. The Sub-Assembly Team Member plays a crucial role in ensuring that parts are produced on time, following a dedicated schedule provided by the Factory Manager.
The main responsibilities of the role include:
- Sub-Assembly Production: Manufacture sub-assemblies by following established procedures and work instructions. This includes assembling, fitting, and joining smaller components accurately and efficiently.
- Quality Control: Perform quality checks to ensure that all sub-assemblies meet the required standards and specifications. Report any defects, malfunctions, or inconsistencies promptly to the relevant personnel.
- Material Preparation: Gather, organise, and prepare all necessary materials and tools required for sub-assembly production. This includes reviewing work orders, identifying required parts, and ensuring their availability.
- Work Scheduling: Adhere to the dedicated schedule provided by the Factory Manager to ensure timely production of sub-assemblies. Communicate any potential delays or concerns regarding the schedule to the appropriate supervisor.
- Maintenance and Cleaning: Keep workstations and equipment clean, organized, and properly maintained. Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the maintenance team or supervisor.
- Documentation: Accurately record production data, such as quantities produced, time taken, and any issues encountered during the sub-assembly process. Maintain appropriate records and reports as required by the organization.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with other team members, including the Assembly Team, to ensure smooth coordination and handover of sub-assemblies for further production stages.
- Continuous Improvement: Actively contribute to process improvement initiatives by identifying areas for efficiency enhancement and suggesting potential solutions.
**ABOUT YOU**
- Prior experience in manufacturing or assembly line operations is preferred but not mandatory.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical components and ability to read and interpret assembly instructions, diagrams, and blueprints.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision to ensure accurate sub-assembly production.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, collaborating with colleagues from various departments.
- Good time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet production deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety guidelines and practices.
