Financial Analyst

The Opportunity Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) is seeking a Financial Analyst to support our Wedgetail Projects and Sustainment projects under the Wedgetail Platform. This role can be based in either Williamtown, Brisbane or Adelaide.

**Responsibilities**:

- Implement the project's requirements and BDA Finance Initiatives.
- Partner with the Wedgetail BP&A Lead and Wedgetail Projects Snr. Financial Analyst to complete the following:

- Performs general analysis of resource forecasts and/or control account Estimates at Completion (EACs);
- Reconciles data from multiple sources and performs general support of:

- Actuals;
- Resource forecast;
- Material forecast;
- Budgets.
- Extracts data and complies routine performance and cost reports.
- Collect, organize and analyse information and data to identify and explain root causes to problems, initiate variance analyses.
- Define and communicate cost trends, analyse and quantify cost risks and opportunities.
- Develops and maintains cost and/or schedule performance measurement baselines, including earned value, and variances analysis.
- Assist in developing business case using appropriate indices.Partner with the Financial Accounting Team to complete the following:

- Australian Accounting Compliance for the project
- Maintain robust and compliant controls & processes to ensure accurate reporting.
- Assist in the monthly accounting close cycle in accordance with BDA established procedures and guidelines.
- Month end activities including journal preparation, posting, and control
- Reconciliation preparation and improvement
- Other ad hoc accounting activities and projects as required

Experience/Qualifications
- CA / CPA certified is highly regarded, but not essential.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business related degree
- Have experience with the following:

- Working with and partnering with cross-functional teams on projects and initiatives
- Compliance Focused
- Good Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Strong financial accounting experience
- Experience in forecasting, developing long range business plans and using the opportunity and risk system
- Experience in performing Estimates at Completion (EACs)
- Earned Value Management (EVM)
- Proactive and enthusiastic approach to learning new skills
- Great Organisation and Time Management Skills
- Data manipulation and analysis skills
