**About Research and Enterprise**
The Chancellery (Research and Enterprise) (CRE) portfolio within the Chancellery Division is led by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) (DVC (R)) and works in partnership with Academic Divisions to achieve the University’s research ambitions. The DVC (R) is the accountable officer for research at the University ensuring research is conducted to the highest ethical standards and with a commitment to excellence.
**About the Role**
As the Research Strategy Project Officer, Capability and Integrity (RSPO), you will implement and report on strategic initiatives delivering the research ambitions of the University, as currently articulated in the University’s strategic plan Advancing Melbourne 2030. You will particularly support the conduct and enhancement of initiatives, networks, and programs relating to research capability and research integrity at the University of Melbourne.
You will undertake varied and dynamic project work, conduct research as directed, draft documents, provide committee support, and closely engage with University’s policies, processes, schemes, culture, and training relevant to research integrity and research capability.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide project liaison and strategic support for research capability and integrity matters as a key Chancellery interface with shared service teams, particularly the Office of Research Ethics and Integrity in RIC;
- Contribute to reports, correspondence, briefing notes and presentations for the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research), the Pro Vice-Chancellors, and Executive Director Research Strategy;
- Provide project support, administration, and coordination across research strategy activities, including
- Provide research, analysis, reporting and secretariat support for key research committees, working groups and researcher development programs.
**About You**
You will have demonstrated organisational and planning skills, including the ability to effectively follow project plans and timelines, prioritise workloads, use basic datasets and contribute to the evaluation of strategic initiatives. In addition to your strong interpersonal skills, you will have excellent writing and analytical skills with the ability to efficiently produce quality documents, correspondence, reports, and committee outputs.
You will also have:
- A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline and/or equivalent mix of education and relevant experience
- Experience in a project officer role (or equivalent) in a university, research institute, government department or organisation characterised by complexity
- Proven ability to support senior staff, with capacity to exercise sound judgement, maintain discretion and handle organisational information in a confidential and appropriate manner
