**An opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic trainee Cardiac Physiologist to join our Cardiology Department on a casual basis.**

Austin Health is the major provider of tertiary health services, health professional education and research across 3 campuses for the northeast of Melbourne and state-wide. Austin Health is world-renowned for its research and specialist work in cancer, liver transplantation, spinal cord injuries, neurology, endocrinology, mental health and rehabilitation.

**The department has links to the University of Melbourne **and a major involvement in teaching, training and research at under-graduate and post-graduate levels for both nursing and medical staff.

We have 2 full time educators whose job is to assist with education and training for all staff, there are weekly teaching sessions for staff to attend.

**This Casual position will be commencing late January.**

To be successful in this role you must be able to fullifll the Postion Description requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

- Demonstrate an understanding of the principles of cardiac technology and the results generated
- Independently perform high quality recordings requiring extensive expertise and use appropriate judgement when acting on the findings for Electrocardiograms, Holter Monitors & Event Monitors
- Obtain relevant patient information and communicate with patients effectively and professionally
- Maintain and perform regular equipment checks
- Maintain associated logbooks, databases and generate interim reports as required
- Liaise closely with medical staff - including referring physicians, and other associated personnel
- Participate in ongoing education, including Journal Clubs and workshops
- Participate in the late roster shift as required
- Promote safety in the workplace
- Other duties as required
