**The Opportunity**

This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated individual to join the Asset Management team at Transgrid as an Infrastructure Security Strategist. The primary function of this role will be develop and detail life cycle protective security strategies for Network assets owned and operated by Transgrid. In addition, the Infrastructure Security strategist will develop strategic directions for the future needs, and forecast future expenditure required to achieve Transgrid’s compliance requirements, and corporate goals and objectives

**Duties and Responsibilities**

As an Infrastructure Security Strategist, you will:

- Provide informed advice and guidance to the Asset Management group on issues related to asset protective security
- Develop protective security strategies and plans for Transgrid’s infrastructure in line with Transgrid’s Asset Management System
- Enhancing and implementing protective security practices through effective risk management, review and deployment of appropriate technologies, and conduct of assurance activities.
- Review and analyse requirements for augmentation and/or replacement of protective security assets
- Ensure appropriate systems and tools are in place to support incident response teams
- Identify and implement improvements in the design and performance of protective security infrastructure
- Undertake research into, and keep abreast of, innovation and technical developments in relation to the performance of protective security assets
- Develop and update security maintenance plans
- Monitor the performance of the protective security assets
- Form strong and effective working relationships with business stakeholders

**Skills & Experience**

What we expect from you:

- Demonstrated experience in security risk management, CPTED, electronic and physical security engineering.
- Technical understanding and expertise in electronic security systems design
- Experience with corporate governance and risk management processes (ISO31000 preferred)
- Familiarity with the electricity transmission network operating environment and associated infrastructure
- Commercial acumen including an ability to understand and critique financial analysis such as Net Present Values, Discounted Cash Flows and the like
- Effective analytical ability to research problems and prepare reports
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team

**Desirable Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in security management or similar area
- SCEC endorsement highly regarded

**Applicants must**:

- Be able to attend Sydney based office locations (hybrid and work from home flexibility possible)
- Be an Australian citizen, hold permanent resident status or be eligible to achieve permanent resident status
- Be capable of passing security background clearance investigation
