Group Procurement sets the strategic direction for Qantas Group’s procurement activities and drives value across the Group’s supply chain. In addition, Group Procurement sets the procurement governance framework (policy, standards and processes) and administers a supply chain risk and assurance program. Procurement is on a continuous improvement journey with a renewed focus on refreshing systems and procurement process. The objective is to enhance the user experience of buyers of products and services, and uplift operational efficiency and compliance.
The Specialist will drive business change - playing an empowered role in the design and implementation of processes and systems and the change management across the Group including the design and delivery of training.
The Specialist will have pivotal stakeholder management responsibilities at all levels of the organisation. The Specialist will engage the support of stakeholders using problem solving and proactive communication, and will build and maintain open and transparent relationships with business colleagues across the Group.
This is an exciting Group role supporting all Qantas Group businesses including Qantas Airways, Jetstar, Loyalty and the Freight business.
To be successful in the role, you will have:
- 5-10 years experience
- Tertiary qualifications in Business Management or Procurement
- Able to demonstrate skills in influencing stakeholders, building effective business relationships with diverse groups of people
- Ability to drive cross functional projects/teams, delivering outcomes in a time sensitive environment
- The ability to understand the key drivers affecting Qantas and create business value through services and leveraging experienced knowledge, leading practices and professional service
- Project management and managing change
- Able to interpret and analyse data and professionally present findings and recommendations
- Flexibility and creativity - innovative in approach and a willingness to challenge existing paradigms
- Ability to acquire and use business process knowledge and identify and drive business process improvement opportunity
- IT skills - Microsoft suite (proficient in PowerPoint and Excel), ERP, eProcurement.
- Knowledge of procurement systems or equivalent systems experience.
- Mature IT knowledge - able to communicate with system specialists on technical issues
- Detailed knowledge of respective procurement operations
- Knowledge of procurement business policies and procedures
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise conflicting tasks in order to meet strict deadlines
- Demonstrated analytical, financial and/or problem-solving skills.
