Excelsia College is a Christian college with academic and administrative staff from many Christian denominations. Excelsia College was founded in 1983 as Australia's first Christian arts college and, together with Indiana Wesleyan University, we are part of a global Christian learning community with big plans to take Christian higher education to the next level in Australia and the Asia-Pacific region for undergraduate and postgraduate students. Excelsia College has attained Self-accrediting Authority and is on a trajectory to achieve Australian University College status.

**About the Role**
Primary responsibilities include:

- To provide specialised support to students undertaking field education components of study;
- To support students with quality, value-added education, which fosters students' ability to integrate theory to practise critically reflect, understand and respond to diverse needs and situations, and to practise creatively;
- Monitors student professional development and academic performance throughout the placement.

**Selection Criteria**

Qualifications and Professional Standing:

- Eligible for full membership of the AASW with a minimum two years full-time post-qualifying practice experience.

Essential:

- An understanding of current and emerging trends in Social Work and training.
- Ability to communicate and work effectively and cooperatively with colleagues from diverse cultural, religious, gender and socio-economic backgrounds.
- A keen awareness of issues impacting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals and communities in various contexts, and support student learning and engagement with these diverse populations
- Technological literacy and experience in developing online communication tools and previous experience in online education is desirable.
- Evidence of a capacity to contribute to effective administration.

This is a casual position.
