_We’re looking for a junior team member to provide business and recruitment assistance to support the continued growth of one of Australia’s leading Defence consultancies. You’ll receive professional development funding, ongoing mentorship, access to a bonus system after probation and the ability to work flexible hours. _
- Besides a great attitude, excellent written communication and experience with Microsoft Office you don’t need any previous experience. We can tailor your package if you do have relevant skills and experience. Part time / flexible arrangements can be negotiated._

**_Your duties_**

**Business development and client engagement**
- Meeting with our clients to understand their support needs
- Reviewing our businesses opportunities and providing input on which ones to bid for
- Preparing tender documentation (complexity to match your skills)
- Writing government proposals
- Maintaining a Client Relationship Management platform

**Business Administration**
- Improving business programs, technologies, and policies.
- Making simple purchases on behalf of the company
- Reviewing invoices and Accounts Receivable
- Engaging with our bookkeeping and finance team and our accountants
- Process mapping and Business Analysis
- Helping onboard our new employees

**Marketing and promotion**
- Managing company social media accounts
- Creating promotional material
- Organising professional company photographs (including yours)
- Website design and updating our website with the help of a web developer
- Working with third party graphic designers
- Coordinating company drinks, lunches and dinners (and attending if you like).
- Helping design company merchandise
- Preparing welcome packs for new employees

**HR and recruitment**
- Supporting employee performance reviews
- Corresponding with new applicants
- Reviewing applicant CVs and providing them feedback
- Learning how we work with external employment lawyers
- Developing new company policies and procedures under direction

**Essential criteria**
- You must have Australian citizenship or permanent residency
- You must live in Canberra and be able to attend meetings with clients if required (your job will be primarily from home).
- An extensive understanding of how to use the basic Microsoft Office programs (Word, Powerpoint, Outlook and Excel).
- Exceptional written communication, spelling and grammar (if you red pen my advert that might get you the job).
- Exceptional document presentation (formatting, graphic design,
- Attention to detail when reviewing documentation and financial information.

**Desirable skills (not necessary, but let us know if you have these)**
- Previous Defence experience in the ADF or APS.
- Previous experience in academia, consulting, project management, business administration, sales or recruitment.
- Social media management, graphic or web design skills

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 38 per week

**Salary**: $55,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
