**About the Role**:
The role itself is responsible for being a strong and visible site based, front line HSE Advisor and to provide support to operational projects across the business, being CitiPower/Powercor, United Energy and BEON. The role will also support and drive a proactive HSE culture where the philosophy of continuous improvement is embedded within the organisation to improve HSE performance.

This role will be required to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and support operational projects with the implementation of HSE programs and initiatives to reduce risk, ensure compliance, improve workplace safety and reduce incident rates.

As the role is for a 12-month contract we are looking for someone to come in and make an impact quickly. This is an amazing opportunity to be exposed to industry leading practices and work with a business prioritising health and safety. This is a role not to be missed

**What you’ll deliver**:

- Provide technical and HSE advice to our operational projects within a region and across other regions and projects as required
- Engage employees and contractors in the implementation of HSE programmes and initiatives
- Coach and positively influence employees and contractors to increase HSE awareness and further improve the safety culture
- Plan and facilitate assurance activities. Including a variety of risk assessments
- Provide direction on compliance requirements with HSE regulations, codes of practice and standards
- Build and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders including Project Managers and Leads, Operations Managers, HSE representatives, Union representatives, first aiders and contractors

**To succeed in this role, you’ll have**:

- Qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety or related discipline (minimum Diploma level)
- Qualification in Environmental Management (desirable)
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (desirable)
- Formal investigation training (ICAM is preferred)
- Proven experience in high risk operational industry. Ideally in Construction, manufacturing, maintenance, oil and gas, Electrical distribution and sub transmission
- Report and document writing.
- Application of HSE Management Systems.
- Knowledge of the Codes of Practice on Electrical Safety construction and maintenance techniques. (desirable).
- Knowledge of Electricity Safety and HSE management aspects.
