**About the opportunity**

Join our Planning and Design business unit as a Principal Urban Designer, lead and shape the future of urban design in Cardinia Shire. This is your chance to make a lasting impact on our community through innovative and strategic urban design solutions.

**You will make an impact by**
- Managing and assisting in the preparation and implementation of precinct structure plans, activity centre structure plans, township strategies, development plans, urban design frameworks, policies and strategies.
- Coordinating urban design outcomes, by undertaking urban design analysis, site analysis, development feasibility studies, preparation of plans, policies, strategies, frameworks, guidelines and referrals.
- Leading and mentoring less experienced staff, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment.

**What you will bring**
- Relevant tertiary qualification in urban design, architecture, or a related field.
- Substantial experience in urban design and architecture, with a strong track record in project management.
- Deep understanding of economic, social, and environmental issues related to development and urban design in Cardinia Shire.
- Ability to assess and critique architectural and urban design work, providing creative and practical solutions.
- Strategic thinking and creativity to plan for high-quality land use, development, and design outcomes.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
