
Construction Manager

Freyssinet Australia are currently looking for a Construction Manager to join our WA Remedial Division where you will be reporting to the WA Remedial Manager. You will be responsible for the operational fluency of all projects based in Western Australia.
The mission of the WA Construction Remedial Manager is accountable for delivering projects successfully in WA to ensure zero harm, quality, on-time delivery, customer satisfaction and profitability. The WA Construction Remedial Manager will also provide commercial and technical support at projects level.
In terms of responsibilities, you will be:
- Leading your direct report operations team on your nominated project(s), setting priorities, reviewing performance, assisting with recruitment on projects and management of staffing issues.
- Forecast and manage project labour requirements and work with the project managers to optimize the labour usage and quantity.
- Monthly performance reporting in line with business processes and objectives
Ensure projects are planned with enough lead time to ensure projects are set up to start on time in accordance with programs
- Oversee projects safety performance, ensuring safety risks are managed and good safety practices are consistently adopted.
- Manage IR issues on your projects and work with other state construction managers when required.
- Oversee commercial process and where required get involved in commercial management and contract administration issues for relevant projects.
- Know your contracts and ensure that contracts are administered properly regarding delay claims and notification by engineers
- Understand and manage risk and opportunities throughout project delivery in accordance with specific contract requirements
- Support PE / PM to establish and manage the required arrangements with sub-contractors and suppliers.
- Strong client relationships to ensure expectations are defined and understood by all parties.
You will need the following skills and experience:
- Minimum Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
Demonstrated experience in a leadership capacity from either a main contractor or development group, ideally with a focus on civil engineering projects valued between $1-$15m.
- Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to influence.
Strong stakeholder management skills
- You can prove a minimum of 10 years of project construction experience in the civil engineering industry.
- Ability to manage projects from planning/programming stage through to completion.
- You will need to have experience previously working in Perth, Western Australia.
