**About the Role**

City of Ryde Council in partnership with the NSW Government is offering a **Parks and Gardens Apprenticeship**position as part of the 'Fresh start for Local Government Apprentices, Trainees and Cadets’ Program.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience and a great way to kick-start your career. You get paid on-the-job training, whilst also completing a nationally recognised qualification. There are three Parks and Gardens Apprenticeship positions opened at City of Ryde.

**Here’s what you’ll bring to the role**:

- Willingness to enrol and complete a _Cert III Park and Gardens_ qualification
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and operating gardening equipment.
- Strong focus on maintaining the appearance and health of plants, lawns, and garden features.
- Ability to work effectively with other parks and gardens staff in a collaborative environment.
- Willing to learn new skills and participate in business improvement initiatives
- Commitment to workplace safety
- WHS General Construction Induction Card (White Card) or willingness to obtain.
- Current C Class driver's licence (P1 minimum) or ability to obtain.

Your commencing salary will be in the range from **$25,064 - $49,280 pa + superannuation**dependent upon your age and qualifications.
