About the Role
City of Ryde Council in partnership with the NSW Government is offering a Civil Construction Apprenticeship position as part of the Fresh start for Local Government Apprentices, Trainees and Cadets Program.
A Civil Construction apprenticeship is a four-year apprenticeship program. The successful candidate will join City of Ryde’s City Operations / City Infrastructure team which is responsible for the construction and restoration of landscape, road, footpath, drainage and other infrastructure within the City of Ryde.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience and a great way to kick-start your career. You get paid on-the-job training, whilst also completing a nationally recognised qualification.
Here’s what you’ll bring to the role:
- Willingness to enrol and complete a Cert III in Civil Construction qualification
- A willingness to learn and a basic understanding of civil maintenance and construction principles.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physical tasks
- Ability to work effectively with other City of Ryde staff and contractors in a collaborative environment.
- Willing to learn new skills and participate in business improvement initiatives
- Commitment to workplace safety
- WHS General Construction Induction Card (White Card) or willingness to obtain.
- Current C Class driver's licence (P1 minimum) or ability to obtain.

Your commencing salary will be in the range from $25,064 to $49,280 pa + superannuation dependent upon your age and qualifications.
