**Who we are**:
Our Support Services team plays a key role in providing excellent care to patients in our hospitals. They deliver a range of vital services that include food services, patient support, porters, cleaning, linen, pest control, Central Production Kitchen, waste management, car parking, hygiene services and some retail services.

**Current opportunities**:
Monash Health continues to grow, opening new hospitals from time to time as well as expanding the services we provide in our existing facilities. In addition, several of our people have recently been promoted.

As a result, we now have several General Services Supervisor opportunities available in the following locations:

- Cranbourne (PM Shift - Thursday and Friday (15.30 -00.00)
- Clayton Monash Medical Centre (PM Shift - 14.30 - 23.00)
- Victorian Heart Hospital
- AM Shift - Sunday to Thursday (06.30 - 15.00)
- AM Shift - Monday to Friday (06.30 - 15.00)
- PM Shift - Friday to Monday (14.30 - 23.00)
- Night Shift - Saturday and Sunday (22.30 - 07.00)

**A Day in the Life of a General Services Supervisor**:
The General Services Supervisor is responsible for supervising the Patient Service Assistant (PSA) and Environmental Service Assistant (ESA) employees and works to assist the General Services leadership team in meeting operational objectives.

**If successful in this role, your responsibilities would include**:

- Leading a team of PSAs and ESAs in their delivery of services to patients, clients and stakeholders
- Ensuring the delivery of high-quality customer focused services
- Achieving service key performance indicators and accreditation in the areas of your responsibility
- Rostering and timecard management using UKG system
- Managing hospital-wide cleaning and patient movement requests
- Compliance to relevant standards

In this hands-on role you will also be required to contribute to the team as a qualified PSA and assist with PSA and ESA duties as required.

**To support your success in this role, we are looking for you to have**:

- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Effective organisational skills with a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and commitments
- A “Can Do” attitude with the capability to problem solve and troubleshoot
- The ability to maintain the highest standards of integrity and confidentiality, and exercise sound judgment
- Excellent customer service skills to provide a personable approach for our patients, visitors and employees at Monash Health
- A proactive approach and team player
- Ability to prioritize tasks and complete them either working alone or as part of a cohesive team.

Skills and experience gained managing a team within a patient services cleaning role of a large organisation will enable you to strive for excellence.

What You Need:

- Certificate III Health Services Assistance qualification (Essential)
- Previous leadership experience supervising /managing a team (Essential)
- Demonstrated experience cleaning to a high standard in a healthcare environment, with a clear understanding of the Victorian Public Hospital Cleaning Standards _(Desirable) _
- Ability to undertake physical work including lifting, carrying and manual handling
- The ability to develop and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders including employees volunteers, and customers
- Basic to intermediate computer/digital skills
- An excellent understanding of infection control and patient identification procedures
