About the Role

Key Responsibilities:
In-Class Support & Best Practice Modelling: Provide hands-on, in-class modelling of best practices to support the diverse needs of students, ensuring that teachers are equipped with the tools and strategies to foster an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
Professional Learning & Staff Development: Provide professional learning on evidence-informed approaches to supporting student behaviour, offering coaching and mentoring to staff, and promoting a collaborative approach to addressing student needs.
Data Analysis & Behaviour Systems: Support the school in collecting and analysing data to evaluate and refine current behaviour management systems and practices, ensuring that they are effective and responsive to the needs of all students.
Student Code of Conduct & Behaviour Support: Assist in reviewing and updating the Student Code of Conduct and implement a consistent referral and support system for classroom staff, providing additional assistance for students who require more focused intervention.
Collaboration with Teachers: Actively participate in collaborative team meetings with classroom teachers to support the planning and implementation of interventions for individual students or groups, ensuring that strategies are tailored to meet their specific needs.
Wellbeing Team Leadership: Lead and support the wellbeing team, including Youth Workers and the Chaplain, in the design and implementation of programs that focus on students' social and emotional wellbeing. Provide guidance and ensure the consistency of approach across the school.
Social/Emotional Wellbeing Program: Take charge of leading the school's Social/Emotional Wellbeing Program, ensuring that there is consistency in practice and that the program meets the needs of all students.
Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL): Lead the PBL team alongside the Deputy Principal, working to create a positive and supportive learning environment that encourages respect, responsibility, and resilience among students.
Parent and Community Engagement: Meet with parents to provide further guidance and support, creating and implementing support plans in collaboration with teachers and families to ensure holistic care for each student.
Organise Student Life Events: Organise school events, initiatives, and programs that enhance student life, foster community connections, and promote school spirit.
Collaboration with the Inclusion Team: Work closely with the Inclusion Team and be an active part of the Student Support Team, ensuring that students with diverse needs are supported and their voices are heard in all aspects of school life.
