**About Us**

Working within our architecturally designed Administration Centre in central Maitland, we are looking for an experienced Health & Building Surveyor to join our highly skilled Building & Development Team and continue to make a meaningful impact on our community.

**About the Role**

Maitland LGA is the fastest growing local government area in NSW, which means our work is fast paced, varied and engaging. We have one of the largest stock of heritage buildings in the lower hunter area meaning this role will be responsible for the adaptive reuse of heritage buildings. As Health & Building Surveyor you will be responsible for the delivery of building certification and approval services in accordance with relevant legislation, the Maitland Local Environment Plan, Council’s Codes, Policies and Building Code of Australia.

**About You**

For success in this role, you will possess degree qualifications in a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of contemporary industry experience and/or education/training recognised by the Building Professionals Board NSW, with a minimum level of registration at the level of Building Surveyor (Class 1 and 10 buildings).

You will have contemporary industry knowledge and demonstrated experience in Health & Building Surveying and interpretation of applicable legislation, policies and codes. You will also have excellent conflict resolution and negotiation skills in the management of complex problems and issues and ensure an exceptional customer experience for all Council stakeholders.

**Benefits**

This is a temporary 12-month opportunity on a casual or part-time basis, working less than 35 hours per week. The **Health & Building Surveyor** attracts a base hourly rate range of **$56.50 to $62.71** and the **Senior Health & Building Surveyor** attracts a base hourly rate range of **$59.72 up to $66.29** based on demonstrated competencies + private leaseback vehicle + 11.5% super.
