**About the company**

Our client operates one of the largest automotive-centric organisations in Australia. They represent several car brands also with business interests outside of retail automotive. They operate a fairly flat leadership structure which gives their team a direct connection to the key stakeholders and the ability to be nimble and dynamic.

**The Role**

This role will directly report to the Head of Human Resources for Australia. As a leadership team member, you will manage a Human Resources team to achieve strategic and operational outcomes within a people-centred environment. The role will be accountable for delivering high-quality people and culture services, project delivery, continuous improvement initiatives, leadership, and developing a multi-disciplined team. As a trusted business partner, you will provide advice and support in managing and overseeing people-related issues and activities. You will need to be an experienced HR Manager with strong stakeholder, change, and workforce management skills and an ability to deliver successful solutions for employee relations and industrial relations issues. Your ability to interpret data to make recommendations on addressing issues and/or improvements for the internal and external customer experience across the group will be highly regarded.

This position operates within a dynamic environment of significant and continual change, so it necessitates constantly changing priorities and focus for the organisation, requiring timely adaptation to the business needs. You will also work alongside all corporate and operational divisions to deliver the client's strategy.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Responsible for all HR advice and support across the business.
- Advise on policies, procedures, and legislation (to both employees and managers) and develop and rewrite policies and procedures when improvement opportunities are seen or legislation changes.
- Promote engagement initiatives to ensure the retention and performance of all employees.
- Provide advice and coaching to managers experiencing issues with staff or when issues are identified by staff.
- Support staff in the development of their careers and promote development opportunities.
- Identify skill gaps within the business and coordinate training requirements
- Manage and ensure adherence to all internal compliance/approval processes
- Manage and maintain Human Resource information systems and databases
- Advise and support Managers with organisational change and restructures, ensuring the required legislative process is followed.
- Manage recruitment to meet business needs.
- Manage any legal issues (within ability) that arise from staff issues.
- Assist managers with WHS initiatives and act as the champion for a healthy workplace.
- Champion employee retention strategies and initiatives across the group to reduce turnover.
- Oversee and coordinate the formation of performance & remuneration KPIs for staff
- Provide strategic leadership for the wider group in maximising ROI
- Directly manage the HR team members across the wider group, including their coaching/future development

**Skills and Experience**
- HR Qualification (Degree) supplemented with practical experience
- Good working knowledge of the Fairwork Act, state employment-related legislation and common law, injury cover, relevant modern awards, and WHS legislation.
- Knowledge of software such as SAP, Snaphire, EPS, Business Training TV, and Kronos will be highly regarded
