The Commercial Manager role involves strong strategic & commercial support to Senior Operations and financial leadership teams. Leading and developing a commercial team, end of month and management reporting, supporting contract retention/new business, contractual compliance & reviews and financial analysis of relevant portfolio. Promotion and support of Our Safety Culture framework is expected.
**The Role**
- **Contract retention**: Assisting with contract retention by driving retention models & supporting with the approval process
- **Contract performance**:Monitoring contract performance. Identifying & implementing strong controls to track costs & providing action plans in a pro-active manner to enhance performance
- **Month End Close**:Accurate & timely close process with sector performance clearly communicated
- **Performance Reporting & Analysis**:Deliver easily digestible and actionable financial reporting, analysis and commentary to management to support decision-making and drive value creation
- **Planning Cycle**:monthly outlook, 90-day forecast, annual budget & multi-year plan
- **Commercial Modelling and Contract Compliance**:Preparation & evaluation of contract variations and proposals to clients. Ensure contractual price escalations are implemented effectively
- **Stakeholder Management**:Provide commercial guidance to operational leadership to support decision-making. Liaise daily with other functional areas of the business including but not limited to FP&A, business development, supply chain and legal. Building strong team collaboration through teamwork and effective communication
- **Preparation of materials for Senior Leadership Team**:Prepare analysis and presentation materials for the senior leadership team, including for month end, budgeting and forecasting processes
- **Lead and manage an effective team**:Monitor performance and use effective leadership, coaching and communication techniques to motivate, empower and develop team
**The Person**
- Commercial/Finance / Accounting Degree qualified
- Minimum 5 years relevant experience
- Sound technical and analytical skills
- Ability to effectively manage team workflow
- Excellent communication skills
- Desirable_
- CA/CPA qualified (or equivalent overseas designation)
- Previous experience leading commercial teams at medium to large organisations
- Experience in ORACLE accounting system
