The Role
The Mechanical Technical Instructor is responsible for the efficient and effective delivery of training to Marine Technicians at HMAS CERBERUS.
This position reports directly to and works closely with the Training Manager - MT and the Training Supervisor - MT to ensure effective delivery of the TTSS contract.
**Instructors will be responsible for**:
Instruct a minimum of 1100 hrs. per annum.
Complete the required assessment documents ensuring the Learner Management System (LMS) is updated correctly.
Complete Trainee Progress Reports (TPRs) for training failures, inferior or superior performance and as necessary to highlight possible trainee training difficulties.
Deliver remedial instruction resulting from training failures.
Deliver tutorial instruction.
Invigilate examinations as and where required, including module retests.
Mark examinations and project work related to the delivery of technical training modules
KBR will also pay for the formal training delivery qualifications required which can be completed during your first 12 months. This is a great opportunity for individuals to provide high quality trade related education and technical training services
**Qualifications**:
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) (Desirable)
Employee Working With Children Check (mandatory)
Experience/Key Knowledge
A minimum of five years trade experience post apprenticeship / traineeship relevant to the area of primary employment.
Understand the principles of adult learning (Desirable).
The skills and knowledge required in facilitating, monitoring and reviewing e-learning delivered via electronic media (Desirable).
Sound knowledge of the National Vocational Education and Training Framework (Desirable).
Sound knowledge of Australian Core Skills Framework (Desirable).
Experience in curriculum development (Desirable).
Other skills, Knowledge and/or Attributes required
Motivated, self-starter who is able to work effectively with mínimal supervision.
High level of written communication skills and attention to detail.
Ability to relate well to a range of people at all levels whilst demonstrating good diplomacy skills.
High level of organisational skills and a proven ability to achieve set goals.
Ability to lead and motivate trainees.
Take responsibility for own work and maintain high personal and professional standards.
An ability and willingness to learn.
