The Chief People Officer provides executive leadership, vision, and direction to a diverse portfolio of human resources services, professional advisory, and enabling functions to drive effective, efficient, and value-add workforce planning, sourcing and workforce engagement aligned with the organisation’s strategic priorities and business needs.

**The Role**

This role is accountable for the performance of the People Group. Key accountabilities for the position will include:

- Leading the development and implementation of Department-wide frameworks and initiatives for growing leadership capability, talent planning and development to drive cultural change aligned with strategic priorities.
- Overseeing the implementation of high-quality people programs and complex, integrated change initiatives to improve performance of operational services to better support strategic and operational decisions by senior executives.
- Leading, directing and overseeing the strategic direction and performance of the People Group, across a large and complex public sector workforce, to drive support of the Department’s strategic goals and objectives.

**The Requirements**
- Demonstrated experience at an executive level in the management of major service deliverables in a large complex organisation.
- Tertiary qualification/s in a relevant discipline (human resources/industrial relations, business, administration or similar).
