Group Compliance is responsible for developing and implementing the Group’s Compliance Risk framework and methodologies. The Compliance Centre of Excellence is responsible for developing compliance frameworks, policies and tools to drive better compliance management for the Group.
The Group Compliance Policy Chapter is responsible for leading the effective implementation, evolution, and monitoring of policies across the Group and is dedicated to effectively implementing compliance and policy requirements through strong collaboration, consultation and user-focused design principles - leveraging technology to continually drive simpler policy embedment. The Policy Chapter role models high quality policy development and ownership for key compliance-related policies such as Group Mandatory Learning, Product Design and Distribution Policy, Group Delegations Policy and other policies owned by the Chief Compliance Officer’s function.
**What a day in your role will look like?**
As a part of the Compliance Centre of Excellence Leadership team, the Chapter Lead will primarily be leading the delivery of the Policy Chapter work, but is also responsible for developing - in partnership with the COE Lead and others in Compliance - the strategic road map for Policy governance; and leveraging agile methodologies to plan and communicate ongoing improvements.
The role will provide effective and constructive contribution to the Compliance Team and the broader Risk Management function, with a focus on collaboration and embedding a risk culture across the function. The role is responsible to lead, manage, coach and develop the function, and to actively and effectively develop direct and indirect reports
**The purpose of the role is to lead and support the team through**:
- Driving consistent and sustainable implementation of the Group Policy Framework (GPF) and related policies and standards across the Group
- Oversee and challenge Policy Owner and BU/SU implementation of the GPF, including monitoring compliance; addressing issues; managing exemptions and exceptions and leading the governance of the GPF
- Providing guidance and advice on policy management and development best practise
- Offering insights into current state versus best practice in peer organisations and advising the business and supporting teams of the requirements of the current expectations;
- Implementing and embedding Policy framework improvements across the Group by gaining appropriate buy-in and sign-off and building excellent stakeholder relationships along the way;
- Undertaking analysis of the GPF and developing insights to support the L2 BU/SU reporting process
- Partnering with the Op Risk and Compliance Crew and other stakeholders to develop, deliver and enhance technology to support delivery of policies
**What will you need to succeed in this role?**
This role requires someone with strong attention to detail and focus on stakeholder management. Key competencies required:
- Knowledge of key financial services regulations is well regarded (APRA, ASIC, Financial Crime, Privacy)
- Experience in policy writing and implementation of policy in a highly regulated, complex, matrixed environment
- Ability to quickly build relationships and influence effectively at multiple levels within a multi-disciplinary, fast paced environment
- Commitment and passion for customers and people - a desire to lead as an owner, take ownership of opportunities and problems and drive delivery
- Familiarity with the CBA Compliance management framework; ORMF and group policy framework
- Excellent written communication skills - experience in drafting and revising policies highly regarded - plain English writing skills and the ability to quickly craft simple and clear communications is critical
- Strong stakeholder management, particularly across a group function in a complex, large business.
