**The Opportunity**
We are looking to appoint an experienced Head of Project Management Office (PMO) who can be based in any of our regional offices (Sydney Melbourne Brisbane Adelaide) You will be responsible for day to day running of the PMO, defining the overall methodology and delivery approach for the PMO, establishing a suite of best practice systems and tools, and for program managing the portfolio of projects under the direction of the Sr. Director PMO, Strategy Execution and Digital transformation. You will also form and nurture internal and external customer relationships within the industry sectors to support the development of new and ongoing PMO work for the business.
**Responsibilities**:
- Define and enhance the end-state design and impact of the PMO, and expected benefits to the business, employees, and customers.
- Establish a suite of best practice PMO systems and tools.
- Create governance and engagement frameworks, and introduce project management methodologies, that enable sound decision making and ensure that the PMO realizes desired benefits.
- Support delivery teams on critical initiatives with planning, executing, and managing initiatives, and manage the portfolio of projects.
- Ensure critical activities and interfaces of initiatives are managed and that issues, risks and interdependencies are appropriately managed.
- Understand the future pipeline of work that falls within the remit of the PMO, ensuring resources are optimised, appropriate methodology is adhered to, and plans are in place to support the program and operational delivery.
- Management of the PMO advisory team to maximise KBR’s PMO branding by forming and nurturing relationships within the market to support development of new and ongoing repeat work for the business
- Management of the PMO deployed resources to deliver agreed customer outcomes
- Management of the PMO functions including Advisory, PMO deployment, Risk management, Cost Intelligence, Business Intelligence & Analytics
- Review and evaluate opportunities regularly to improve processes and achieve better results in both delivery and commercial outcomes.
- Report to KBR’s Executive on the status of critical initiatives in scope of the PMO.
- Participate on the Digital transformation and business improvement forums
- Achieve agreed PMO win and sales targets
**What you will need to succeed**
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in business, project, engineering or related field.
- Previous experience in establishing and operating a PMO.
- Extensive experience in Project Management and utilising the right methodology for project success.
- Experience working in the capital planning, delivery, reporting and governance areas within Asset intensive environments.
- Deep understanding of the project environment within large businesses working on high profile initiatives and dealing with multiple stakeholders.
- Proven record in managing and driving change through strong governance and continuous improvement.
- Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to develop and communicate the importance of governance and process adherence whilst driving innovation, quality, and commercially focused delivery.
- A distinctive blend of business, IT, financial and communication skills.
- Excellent analytical, strategic conceptual thinking, strategic planning, and execution skills.
