Working for an industry leader in shipping operations across Australia, you will be responsible for leading the HSE improvements and compliance across their local operations. Reporting directly to the Terminal Manager, the primary functions of the HSE Manager is to actively support and nurture the dynamic HSE culture across the port.

The successful applicant will also be responsible for actively managing all the HSE management systems and ensuring compliance across legislative and organisational requirements. **Key Competencies**:

- Providing HSE advice to Leadership Team and ensuring compliance across Security and Dangerous Goods portfolio
- Manage the implementation of the HSE Plan in line with the National HSE Strategy
- Implementing and maintain existing procedures and policies with the ability to review and develop further in a consultative way
- Facilitating the implementation, training and acceptance of change within the workplace
- Developing a culture of continuous improvement
- Key point of contact for the National Security and Australian Border Force
- Maintain the accreditation of the SMS to ISO14001 and OHSAS18001
- Ability to develop strategic relationships with all business partners and stakeholders to meet business goals
- Maintain a positive working relationship with Work Health, Safety and Environmental Regulators
- Demonstrating behaviours that are aligned with safety best principles while understanding relevant safety principles and regulations

**Key Requirements**:

- Previous experience in a leadership role within Health and Safety
- Qualifications to carry out internal management systems audits
- Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment (ideally)
- High level of negotiation, problem solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication skills across both written and verbal
- High level of competence in Microsoft Office Suite
- Solid knowledge of HSE Management data bases
- Experience across Chemical Management, Dangerous Goods and Security
- Familiarity with ICAM - Incident & Accident Investigations
