South-East Queensland includes many parks and forests with very high natural, cultural and social values, including world-renown, special places such as Lamington, Noosa, Springbrook, D'Aguilar, Burleigh Heads, Conondale and Eurimbula national parks. However, the area also has one of the fastest growing populations in Australia. A key challenge for the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service & Partnerships (QPWS&P), and are First Nations partners.
**Your contribution**:
**We are seeking a contemporary team leader that will**:
- help guide the SEQ Region, QPWS&P, to understand, plan for, and manage visitor, recreation and tourism use of our parks and forests
- mentor and guide a team of specialist, technical staff who drive consistency and a range of 'thematic' programs across an operational region of QPWS&P
- support teams responsible for strategic visitor and recreation planning, commercial operator permits, visitor communications (social media, webpages, interpretation / signs), visitor education and compliance.
- work closely, and coordinate visitor-focused working groups, with other team leaders in the areas of park management planning, asset, pest and estate management and safety, including developing local approaches, guidelines and procedures associated with visitor management
- work closely with First Nations peoples and coordinate high-level engagement with recreation peak bodies, commercial operators and the tourism industry What's in it for you?
