**Your day-to-day**
- Prepare and serve drinks to high standards, highlighting promotions to guests and maximising upselling opportunities
- Set up your bar - stock up on all the supplies you will need, manage the inventory and make sure all the equipment works
- Ensure the security and proper storage of food and beverage products
- Look after your bar - keep it clean and tidy and make sure the alcohol is always secure
- Take food orders - work with kitchen to ensure the food is delivered to a high quality in a timely manner
- Manage staffing requirements and assigning roles and tasks in the bars
- Provide mentoring, training and feedback to colleagues to improve team performance
- Support and drive any incremental revenue initiatives as required including upselling, suggestive selling and promotions
- Create a warm welcome to everyone and set the tone for each guest’s experience
- Ensure that beverages are poured accurately and any wastage/breakage is recorded as per hotel policy
- Ensure all credit and financial transactions are handled in a secure manner
- Strictly adhere to IHG policy concerning the Trade Practices Act, Gifts and Bribery and Data Privacy
- Maintain all procedures and adheres to them within the IHG guidelines
- Demonstrate a sound awareness of Crisis Management, HACCP & WH&S policies and procedures. This includes accurate record keeping in particular for HACCP
- Assist in supporting the team with other duties as required

**What we need from you**
- Experience - you’ll know how to prepare a wide range of drinks (ideally with formal bartending training)
- Ability to delegate and motivate a team
- Communication - you will need a good grasp of reading, writing, and basic maths
- Flexibility - Night, weekend and holiday shifts are all part of the job
- Fitness - you’ll be on your feet most of the day with bending and kneeling. Sometimes you’ll need to lift, push and pull objects like barrels and crates up to 23 kg - we have the equipment to support you
- Compliance - Valid RSA Competency card is required
- Attitude - A team player, ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritise workload
