Cutting & Qc Specialist - Fixed Term Contract

**_Grace Loves Lace_** is a world leader in innovative and modern bridal with a Head Office on the Gold Coast and 26 Boutiques worldwide An exciting opportunity is now available for a **Cutting & Quality Control Specialist** to join our Production team based in Burleigh Heads

This role is responsible for supporting the cutting and hemming team to ensure high-quality production of bridalwear garments, including accurate cutting, sewing, finishing, and quality control, while meeting daily and monthly KPIs. It also involves assisting with scheduling, fabric inventory, administration, and coordinating with senior staff and production management to ensure workflow efficiency and adherence to GLL standards.

**This role is a fixed term full time position for a 10-month maternity leave contract, working Monday - Friday (7:00am - 3:30pm Monday - Thursday & 7:00am - 1:30pm Fridays)**

**Key responsibilities of the role**:

- Drive to meet daily, weekly and monthly KPIs and outputs
- Leading by example and providing support to cutting and hemming team to ensure safety practices are met
- Assisting Senior staff with scheduling and alignment of duties and workload
- Submitting orders to production
- Instruct and assist cutters with accurate bundling of cutting in preparation for in house sewers and contractors
- Cutting and finishing hems on MTO garments
- Repairing garments to GLL standards
- Following instructions on hemming and building knowledge of dress finishes
- Taking measurements, completing height checks and adapting mannequins to STND / RTW /MTO size ranges
- Create one off patterns on fabric from existing blocks for unique Made to Order gowns to measurements supplied on a size chart
- Excellent interpretation of tech packs and supplied samples to ensure the gowns are cut accurately
- Quality control of fabrics before cutting and complete dresses
- Assist in keeping an accurate inventory of fabric
- Administration support duties required for the cutting department
- Assisting with Production Manager tasks and order relations.
- Checking that all finished garments match the pattern instructions and meet quality standards
- Sewing bridalwear gowns to a high standard while meeting production timeframes
- Using a range of machines, such as overlockers and hemmers to carry out a range of tasks and produce different finishes
- Physically fit with the ability to lift, bend, and pull heavy items.
- Perform quality control process for finished products when required
- Some ad-hoc duties as required by management

**Required Skills**:

- At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role working with swimwear, stretch fabrics, lace, lingerie
- Demonstrate effective time management skills
- Ability to work well independently as well as within a team environment.
- Hand cutting skills
- Highest standard of attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Excellent communication, multi-tasking and organizational skills
- Demonstrable experience as a sewing machine operator with at least 5 year’s experience in garment construction
- Solid knowledge of sewing room process with an ability to use a range of machinery including overlocker, plainsewer, coverstitch, elasticating, zig zag, button hole.
- Ability to meet daily goals and deadlines
- Administration minded and knowledge of NetSuite or similar.
