Learning Designer

**The Y Brisbane **is a not-for-profit organisation with leading services in childcare, fitness, camping, education, hospitality, youth, recreation and community programs. We have been working in local communities across Australia since 1854.

**YMCA Head Office** is recruiting a **Learning Experience Designer **on a **full time, permanent** **basis**to join our team located in **Fortitude Valley, QLD.**

**ABOUT THE ROLE**

As a **Learning Experience Designer, **you will create a range of professional learning and development products through a variety of traditional and digital mediums to enhance staff capability. You will be dedicated to supporting workforce development through planning, designing, developing, and implementing high quality, accessible and relevant learning design, materials, and tools to support the development of a growing highly skilled and knowledgeable workforce.

Duties include (but are not limited too):

- Manage the end-to-end instructional design of learning modules, sessions and programs to achieve the most appropriate learning outcomes adhering to scope requirements, style guidelines, cost, time and quality expectations.
- Design a variety of instructional materials for traditional instructor-led courses, online programs, web-based learning aids or products, and other programs as needed. This includes creating supporting material/media
- Collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders (SMEs, industry, leaders and learners) to scope, design and deliver creative, innovative and highly-interactive learning solutions that meet their needs
- Participate in content audits as required
- Ensure learning and instructional design activities and products are current and effective by maintaining up-to-date knowledge of, and implementing, best practice models, methodologies, practices and technologies
- Maintain knowledge and provide support to meet training obligations in relation to government, industry and organizational compliance requirements

**ABOUT YOU**
- Post graduate qualifications in adult vocational education, instructional design, instructional or educational technology, education or related field
- Certificate IV Training and Assessment
- 5+ years of experience in an instructional design role with a proven track record of delivery
- Experience in e-learning technologies, software and methodologies to develop learning modules that incorporate a range of multi-media and training materials
- Experience in the implementation and utilisiation of best practice instructional design, L&D technology/software
- Demonstrated ability and experience in each phase of instructional design, from learning needs analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation
- Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to manage concurrent projects with competing deadlines
- Able to develop highly effective working relationships by building credibility, respect and rapport with internal stakeholders and external networks
- Ability to quickly understand people and learning issues and design solutions to address people/service/organisational needs
- Experience designing compliance, leadership and team development programs and initiatives
- High level communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and within a team in a fast pace environment
- National Police Check; or willingness to obtain
