Why this role matters
The Salvation Army Australia’s Family Violence Stream provides a wide range of services around the country. We aim to provide a holistic response to women, with and without accompanying children, who are experiencing domestic and family violence and related homelessness, emphasising the principles of empowerment, self-determination, and an acknowledgement of the dynamics of domestic violence in a socio-political context.
About the role
We are seeking a values-driven and proactive Case Manager to offer appropriate and high-quality support to individuals who are identified to have experienced or be at risk of experiencing human trafficking, slavery and slavery-like practices.
Reporting to the Program Manager, this is a casual position based in Sydney, NSW. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the SCHADS Award Level 5.
You will successfully- Offer appropriate and high-quality support to individuals impacted by modern slavery, from a client-centred and trauma-informed casework approach.- Provide Case management support to clients in accordance with TSA case management models and standards of practice.- Make ongoing assessment of the client’s issues, needs and circumstances from initial referral and intake to exit.- Develop individual case plans in collaboration with clients and include a range of interventions that address the needs or goals of clients.- Assist clients to access support services and establish community supports, and where needed assist through advocacy with service providers.- Participate to the daily running of the House Administration such as maintaining cleaning roster, room check ins etc- Deliver training/presentations about the Safe House programs to partner agencies as requested.
You will have- Degree qualification in social work, welfare, community development or related field OR demonstrated high level of sector knowledge and skills attained through previous appointments, service and study/development.- A current NSW Employee Working with Children Check.- Current full NSW Driver license.- Relevant experience in a social service environment.
