Doncaster, Australia Shoppingtown Hotel - ALH Group Full time

Shoppingtown Hotel an iconic entertainment and events venue is seeking a talented and experienced Functions and Events Manager to join our team.

As the Functions and Events Manager, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating all events and functions hosted by Shoppingtown Hotel, including but not limited to corporate events, weddings, parties, conferences and entertainment events.

**Responsibilities**:

- Develop and implement event plans, including budgets, timelines, and resources required
- Collaborate with clients, vendors and internal teams to ensure all events run smoothly
- Negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers to secure the best possible prices and terms
- Manage event logistics, including venue selection, catering and accommodation
- Oversee event setup, teardown and cleanup
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and vendors to ensure repeat business and referrals
- Manage event budgets, expenses and revenue, ensuring that all events are profitable
- Conduct post-event evaluations and implement improvements for future events

**Requirements**:

- Proven experience as a Functions and Events Manager or similar role
- Current RSA
- Excellent project management, organisational and multitasking skills
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Knowledge of event planning software, such as IVvy, Cvent, Eventbrite or similar
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required
- Education obtained in hospitality management, event planning or a related field preferred

**Salary**: $67,500.00 - $75,000.00 per year
