**Remuneration**: $70.19 - $104.59 per hour + superannuation + salary packaging options designed to reduce your taxable income and increase your take-home pay

**Location**: Calvary Mater Newcastle - Cnr Platt & Edith Street Waratah (Newcastle, NSW)

**YOUR NEW ROLE**:
We are seeking a Career Medical Officer (CMO) to join our emergency department with a difference. You will be responsible for the provision of safe, effective and appropriate patient centred medical care in a team based emergency department. At Calvary Mater Newcastle (CMN), the main point of difference for our emergency department is specialised focus on general medicine, oncology and haematology, palliative care, psychiatric and clinical toxicology presentations.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure that all patients discharged from the department who require non-ED follow-up care receive a written discharge letter and advice about their condition, including the use of patient handouts where available.
Ensure that patients are discharged to a safe environment
Ensure that appropriate follow up arrangements are in place for patients being discharged home
Demonstrated an understanding of risk management processes and systems
Protects the rights of patients whilst respecting their values, customs and spiritual beliefs
