**About the Role**
- The Specialist Modal Integration will support the Principal Engineer Public Transport Precincts and Facilities in performing the technical duties of their respective discipline.
- The Specialist Modal Integration will support the functions of the Standards and Transport Engineering Branch. This may involve:
- Developing and maintaining core network technical and maintenance requirements.
- Planning and co-ordinating technical activities which ensure compliance to the DTP technical and maintenance requirements.
- Investigation, analysis and resolution of arising technical issues.
- Writing concise and comprehensive reports

**Position Outcomes / Accountabilities**
- Provide engineering and technical support services to the DTP and its stakeholders with respect to planning, development, delivery and operation of all public transport stations, stops, accessibility, environment and other supporting infrastructure across the asset lifecycle. This should include supporting policy development and implementation, providing engineering and technical analysis and advice to projects, providing technical oversight to achieving holistic precinct outcomes, and contributing to broader DTP responsibilities with respect to public transport precincts and facilities.
- Prepare and present reports, technical and professional documents, Ministerial briefs, Cabinet and agency committee submissions.
- Develop and implement engineering management systems, standards, processes, procedures and information required to deliver engineering services and the public transport system more broadly.
- Support the development of strategic and operational plans, organisational design and performance, budget preparation and management of the Rail Engineering team.
- Build strong collaborative relationships within the Standard and Transport Engineering Branch, DTP, other divisions, transport operators and all relevant stakeholders, across a global and cross functional environment in order to support the reliable, integrated, safe and efficient delivery and operation of public transport.
**Key Selection Criteria**
**Qualifications and Experience**
- A tertiary qualification in engineering (civil, building or electrical); OR,
- A relevant tertiary degree in urban planning, urban design or social sciences or related field and extensive experience in strategic planning or similar field with proven 10+ years of experience
