WesTrac is looking for a dynamic **Payroll Compliance Project Specialist** to spearhead payroll process improvements, ensuring top-notch quality and minimising non-compliance risks.

This position is a 6-month fixed-term contract based at our Corporate Office in South Guildford, WA.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Lead and Deliver Projects**: Drive payroll compliance projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to goals and deliverables.
- **Ensure Compliance**: Oversee payroll processes to ensure they meet all relevant laws and regulations.
- **Quality Assurance**: Conduct thorough reviews of payroll compliance, comparing current practices to valid interpretations of EA/awards.
- **Collaborate**: Partner with Payroll and P&C teams to ensure accurate and timely employee payments.
- **Reporting**: Prepare and present comprehensive reports on payroll compliance, providing regular updates to stakeholders.
- **Independent Testing**: Conduct tests on key controls, document objectives and outcomes, and provide feedback.
- **Regular Audits**: Perform audits of payroll processes and records to identify and resolve compliance issues.
- **Continuous Improvement**: Identify and implement opportunities to enhance payroll compliance and operational processes.

**Qualifications**:

- Tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Previous experience in payroll management, compliance, and project leadership.
- Experience in risk/compliance management or governance.
- Strong analytical, interpretive, and problem-solving skills.
- Deep understanding of compliance and risk management practices.
- Proven track record in leading process improvement initiatives.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
