**The Company**

Cotton Australia is the peak body for Australia’s cotton growers, representing up to 1,500 cotton farms mainly in New South Wales and Queensland. Cotton Australia works with growers and stakeholders to ensure the Australian cotton industry remains viable, valued, and advanced.

Their purpose is to support the Australian cotton industry to be world-competitive, sustainable, and valued by the community by driving the industry’s strategic direction, its strong focus on research and development, reporting on its environmental credentials and implementing policy objectives.

**The Role**

The role of Communications Manager - Digital Strategy plays a vital role within the stakeholder team to develop strategy and execute effective communication strategy to Cotton Australia’s stakeholders and the general public. Being both strategic and hands on, you will create and deliver communication material and activities that communicate how the industry’s investment in RD&E has driven sustainability, all aimed at building trust.

You will be responsible for:

- planning, creating, and sharing compelling digital content to engage key audiences aimed at building trust to industry and the wider public
- designing, project managing, and implementing digital campaigns that drive engagement and awareness
- responding to, managing and communication critical industry issues
- working with external and internal stakeholders to ensure a consistent narrative across our digital communications platforms, collateral, events, and social media platforms
- delivering engaging and effective digital campaigns
- managing Cotton Australia’s social media channels, including creating, planning, and scheduling content and monitoring engagement including logistics and websites
- contributing to the strategic direction of web content
- being a team player assisting in the day-to-day operations of the communications team.

**The Person**

To be successful you will:

- have 5+ years in a similar role
- have suitable marketing and or communications qualifications
- have exceptional writing and communication skills
- be adept at using the various software to create templates and designs
- have experience driving, aligning, and managing social media content
- be comfortable within a science-based organisation to understand technical ‘talk’
- be willing to be hands on while driving strategy
- ideally, you will have a passion for agriculture and come with a solid reputation of exceptional communication skills.

To be successful you will be independent by nature, a self-starter, an initiative-taker, and someone who loves working with teams and industry to design communications plans that influence perception.
