PROGRAMMED, in partnership with Yara Pilbara, is now recruiting applicants to undertake a Mechanical Fitter Apprenticeship. This is your opportunity to join a dynamic and growing industry working at Yara Pilbara - home to one of the world's largest ammonia production facilities, and a recently commissioned Technical Ammonium Nitrate (TAN) Plant based on the Burrup Peninsula. This apprenticeship is a four-year program, where you will work towards achieving the nationally recognised Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade. This apprenticeship is designed to provide a comprehensive practical and theoretical base that enables the development of mechanical skills, technical procedures and concepts to carry out repairs and maintenance to a wide variety of mechanical equipment, as well as developing safe working practices. Your training will involve both on-the-job and classroom-based learning at the local TAFE.

To be successful, you will meet the following criteria:

- Completion of Secondary Schooling to a Year 11 level (or equivalent), or completion of relevant pre-vocational qualifications.
- A current C class driver's licence.
- Technical and problem solving skills.
- A willingness to work as part of a team and be motivated to pursue a career as a Mechanical Fitter.
- The ability to pass a pre-employment medical and regular drug & alcohol screening tests.
- The ability to obtain a Dangerous Goods Security Card & Maritime Security Identification Card
- You must also be available to undertake a numeric, literacy, abstract and mechanical reasoning aptitude test

Please note, these positions are residential only. No housing or housing allowance is offered as part of these contracts.
