A rare and exciting opportunity exists for an outstanding Head of Retail / Store Manager to join and lead our retail team at steele house in Hawthorn, on a 12 month maternity cover contract.

Reporting to the Director, this leadership role will oversee all day-to-day operational responsibilities of our retail and customer care departments. Further, you will be accountable for maximising sales by providing exceptional customer service, visual presentation and creating a memorable and elevated brand experience.

In this role you will have the opportunity to work closely with all departments on strategy and ways to grow the retail business, while also providing feedback to the design team regularly.

This role also oversees the customer care department - where you will provide support and guidance to the customer care team to achieve best outcomes for our customers to ensure the experience remains consistent across the retail & digital space.

**Responsibilities**
- Delivering exceptional in-store customer service & seamless connection with our digital space
- Building positive relationships with all customers
- Ensuring the store is beautifully presented always
- Demonstrate excellent product knowledge & deliver regular feedback to design team
- Recruit, train and develop performance of the retail team
- Work closely with the Marketing team to develop in-store concepts and events to drive client engagement
- Ensure a high level of personal presentation and be a brand ambassador
- Inventory management & Loss prevention
- Oversee the customer care department & provide guidance and assistance to the team around customer experience
- Minimum 5 years experience in a store manager / cluster manager role (fashion ideally)
- Strong communicator with a passion for delivering exceptional customer service
- Have a passion and understanding of fashion & trends
